Replace your Weber Grill Burners and Igniter

Problem:

My Weber grill does not sear meat as well since only half the burners are working.
The ignition has not worked for years, and I've used a gas lighter as a work around.

Having both of these problems, I thought it was time to fix my grill.

Solution:

Replace the burners and igniter.

Steps:

You need the parts below, plus a couple of hours of nice outdoor weather.

A. Acquire the Replacement Parts

Find the right parts for your grill.

I used the Weber Replacement Parts Store (http://store.weber.com/parts/gas/) to determine the right part number for my grill.

The Burner Tubes was part number 307507 (http://store.weber.com/items/?pid=1315).
My Igniter Kit was part number 307509 (http://store.weber.com/items/?pid=1316).

B. Purchase the parts

A quick Amazon search showed that parts were available, and cheaper.  Using Amazon Prime, I could have the parts delivered before the weekend.

3. Remove the Control Panel

4. Remove the Valve Assembly

5. Remove and Replace the Burners and Crossover tube

D. Replace the Gas Catcher and Igniter

1. Remove the old gas catcher.

Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the metal keeping the gas catcher in place.

2. Remove the old igniter

3. Install the new gas catcher

Bend the metal flaps of the gas catcher to keep them in place.

4. Install the new igniter

E. Test the Weber Grill

1. Install the gas tank and test for gas leaks.

2. Install the grates, flavorizer bar.

3. Switch it on!

Yey! Definitely a positive customer experience. Thanks to Weber and Amazon.
